It's actually the main flu bug for this year, and it's a really nasty one, but it will go away, I promise. Took me three weeks to feel vaguely human, and the DH had fevers above 39 for ten days straight before they finally broke and he had two weeks minus two days off work - his first days off due to sickness in more than ten years. Almost five weeks since I got it, and four since the DH succumbed, he has finally stopped coughing, and I am less tired...
It's a shocker this year - and himself needs to be sure that a sudden fever onset isn't heralding a secondary bacterial infection (like bacterial pneumonia - more common than most people think) for which he will need antibiotics. The DH didn't even begin getting better until 24 hours after starting the antibiotics :O Oh, and Ventolin can actually assist a dry, barking cough. Have a chat with your pharmacist...
Gods I hope you two start feeling better real soon *massive hugs*
