Well, it took four years...

I have (finally) caught COVID-19. It's amazing what you can achieve by being autistic and not going out much.

I went home early on Wednesday after I'd injured my right ankle (somehow) - it was feeling like the tendons were unspooling, and aching badly enough that it was distracting me from work. At the same time, it's polledd seasodd here, and everyone in the office has been a bit sniffly and sinus-y, because the trees and grasses are having their sex lives. So I was snuffly and miserable due to that. Oh drat. Went home, put my right foot up for the rest of the day, and thought no more of anything.

Yesterday, the ankle was still giving me problems, so I booked a GP appointment and kept up the rest and elevation to see if I could get it to improve. Well, the ankle got better, but during the day I developed a fever and chills, which I really hadn't expected. Oh drat, I thought, maybe I have flu. So I did one of those combined COVID / flu tests about a half an hour before I had to head off to the GP's surgery (because I'm polite and don't want to subject other people to anything infectious if I can avoid it). Nope, not flu. COVID.

So since then, I've been contacting various people - work, the GP's office (they were very nice, changed my appointment to telehealth for me, although I had to pay the charge up front), and all the various appointments I have on Monday (which will officially be Day 5), as well as all the various people I've come into contact with since about Tuesday.

Himself is fine, and doesn't have COVID.

Oh no. I hope it's mild and without sequelae.
