megpie71: Impossibility established early takes the sting out of the rest of the obstacles (Impossibility)

Yeah, for me the Pepper thing launched on about Good Friday (because I picked the game up about the Monday before Easter, I think) and I had to try and get her by Easter Monday US time (which, due to the standard timezone mess-ups would have been about oh-good-grief in the morning of the Tuesday after Easter here in Western Australia) and I just figured nope, nowhere near enough time to try and do this without spending money, let's concentrate on getting the Enchantress (who I was also trying to recruit at the time) instead. Now with the GotG event happening, I'm also trying to recruit Captain America, so he's the one I'm concentrating on. If I wind up with some of the GotG characters as well, that's nice, but I'm not going to try and knock myself out doing it.

But by contrast, BF during the three days I was playing it had various events which involved collecting multiple quantities of things which drop when you harvested fields or collected goods from animal pens and so on - and those events lasted only days. So of course, to get the best turnover of the drops, the trick is to plant lots of short-term crops and just keep harvesting - which means you're having to do something on the browser window approximately every 2 - 5 minutes, and can't get too far from it. Very anxiety-making and mentally exhausting for me. Which is why by the beginning of the fourth day, I'd put the bookmark for the wretched thing away in its own little folder in the bookmarks toolbar, and have no plans to get it out again. (I've now dumped that folder about two levels deep in the bits of my bookmarks toolbar I don't visit a lot - I really don't want to be going back there).

A month-long special event isn't that bad, and I figure the game is still playable without all the special characters they want you to buy (plus I figure those special characters will show up for acquisition in the normal course of things later down the road in the storyline if they're absolutely vital to the story - rather like the Hulk is hinted to be available via clearing territory a bit further down the track, if you don't fancy collecting him now.
