It occurs to me the other mobile phone providers in Australia could capitalise on this particular mishap quite successfully by offering free, pre-paid mobile phones to Optus customers "for use in case of outages" - particularly people such as age pensioners, people with disabilities, people who work from home, people in rural areas and so on.
