I would argue that anything with the typical sponge cake texture is not a slice, no matter when it is cut up.

Slice = UK traybake, I think, but there doesn't seem to be a US equivalent.

There also seems to be a certain rectangular component to a slice, or at least angles should be involved somehow. A round slice would be very odd.
