According to a lot of popular internet and cultural lore, I'm a unicorn - I'm female, over 30, a fan of science fiction and fantasy writing, a fan of computer games (particularly the RPG genre) and I like computers and technology for the fun things they can let me do. I'm also fat, greying, and keen on things like crosswords, crochet, cross-stitch embroidery, and writing fanfiction. I read more than I write.

What's this with the "Other Prom"?

Well, start by looking here at Shakesville. I decided, in a spirit of solidarity with other former high school outcasts (because I definitely would have been sent to the "other formal" had our school held such an event) to alter the banners on my blogs to reflect this. Congratulations to Constance McMillen for being much more adult than most parents in her hometown.
